Showcase maps in 3D

We’ve introduced the ability to set the default orientation of maps in in both the Social Map and Web Map tools. Users can now adjust the initial ‘pitch’ and ‘bearing’ of the maps to show 3D perspective views when the maps load, assisting you to create striking and impressive maps that show off the mapping tools’ 3D capabilities.

We’ve also introduced the ability to automatically expand the legend of the Web Map on load, allowing users to easily see the corresponding key for each mapping layer. We’ve also made some design changes that improve the appearance of the legend’s layer controls, including slimming down the ‘on-off’ layer toggles.

Create custom mailing lists

We’re building on The HiVE’s mailer feature, introducing the ability to create or import custom lists, or segment existing lists to combine them into new lists. This will expand your ability to manage lists from external sources such as off-line lists or existing mailing lists to reach even more people.

Anti-spam features

We’ve strengthened the anti-SPAM capabilities of the software to prevent abuse and ensure the integrity of your data.

In addition to the existing anti-SPAM features, we’ve implemented Google’s industry leading ReCAPTCHA service across all participation tools and sign up forms. The ReCAPTHCA feature can be added and configured at a sitewide level or within the settings of each feedback tool. Options include setting up a ‘check-box’ that users must click to confirm they are not a robot, or using an ‘invisible’ option which uses algorithms to detect automated behaviours.

Updates to email notifications

We’re making changes to default automatic notification email templates so they are clearer and consistent. This change will only affect sites without custom email templates.

Depreciation of InstaFeed tool

Due to recent changes made by Facebook, the process of finding the relevant IDs and Keys from Instagram has become considerably more complex to obtain and verify. These are required for the setup of the InstaFeed tool and for this reason we have decided to deprecate this tool from The HiVE.

Users will no longer see the InstaFeed tool in their toolbox. Any existing InstaFeed blocks will stop working on 2 March 2020 when New Client registration and permission review on Instagram API platform are discontinued.
