Social map preview

We’re proud to announce yet another major upgrade to The HiVE’s Social Map tool, the most advanced map-based feedback tool on the market.

This new update provides map previews to the block settings of the tool. This means that, as you add your custom layers, masks and information, you’ll be able to preview your maps and see what your visitors will see. This gives a whole new level of control to site users, allowing you to test ideas out and see how your maps will appear to your participants as you create them.

This upgrade rounds out a range of updates to the tool over the last twelve months. Social Map is now the most comprehensive spatial engagement tool of its kind, with fast-loading maps with the ability to personalise maps through 10 base maps, support for custom drawable or uploadable map layers and masks, customisable categories and icons, and even the ability to view maps in 3D.

Additional updates

The new addition to Social Map sits alongside a range of small but significant quality-of-life updates to The HiVE. These include:

  • The addition of DNS validation to email signup questions to ensure ‘fake’ or misspelt emails are automatically rejected
  • The ability to configure member attributes which aren’t part of the registration form to appear specifically in feedback tools so that consistent questions can be asked across tools
  • Updates to the the ‘User Registration’ dashboard settings page so that Site Admins can more easily configure both the signup and user details modals, including question order, descriptions and whether the question is required or not
  • Changing the ‘Delete User’ button within the User profile in the members dashboard to read ‘Deactivate User’ to better reflect the action
  • Updates to the Community Members and Site Users tables within the members dashboard to include both active and inactive users as well as a new ‘status’ field which can be used to filter your data
  • Improvements to the Members spreadsheet exports to ensure new line characters are trimmed before and after the value so that the cells within the export do not look empty upon first inspection
